The Abundantly F Life!

God desires that His children live abundant lives.
He gives us His word to teach us how.

Being Abundantly FIT means that you enjoy the fullness of health in your total being; Spirit (inner man) Soul (mind, will, emotions) and Body (physical temple). Get Fit God's way by focusing first on your spirit, then on renewing your mind so that you can command your body to do what is required to be healthy and fit!

Step One

The first step to being Abundantly FIT is Spiritual Fitness through a relationship with God. You must be convinced that your Heavenly Father desires an abundant and prosperous life for you and that He will be faithful to help you get there. Spending time in fellowship with God and meditating on His word allows you to have the understanding, strength, faith, wisdom and determination to become spiritually and physically fit. So get into right relationship with God by accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and asking the Father to forgive you of your sins and to give you a pure heart so that you can hear His direction and pursue your purpose on the earth. [John 10:10; 3 John 2]

Step Two

The next step is to ask the Lord to change your mindset so that you think of your quest to live a fit lifestyle in the same way you think of your quest to please God. The Lord is calling us to be renewed in the spirit of our minds so that we understand that not living a healthy lifestyle is sin against our bodies! We must be good and faithful stewards of the bodies that God has entrusted with us. I Corinthians 6:19 tells us that our bodies belong to God! He desires us to present them to Him as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto Him. So we must determine in our minds that we have a responsibility to the Lord to take excellent care of our bodies so that we are FIT to serve when He calls us to take action. [Ephesians 4:23-24, Romans 12:1-2]

Step Three

Finally, we must exercise our spiritual authority by commanding our bodies to line up with the word of God. We all know that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. Meaning, we may have good intentions about working out but our bodies may not feel like moving when we say move. We also may have the right idea about not overeating but our bodies crave one more helping from the all-you-can-eat buffet even after we are full. Let's praise God that In Christ we have victory over our flesh! Use the authority that God gave you in the power of your tongue to speak affirmations over yourself. For the word says that "whoever says (insert health/fitness goal here) and does not doubt in his heart but believes that those things he says will be done, will have whatever he says." Speaking affirming words about yourself becomes the foundation from which you are motivated to take ACTION! Remember, exercising your spiritual authority requires faith and WORKS.
